Prague & the Czech Republic

   Coming in Spring 2018

Prague KonopisteNot solely a battlefield tour, though that aspect will not be ignored. Our base will be magnificent Prague, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Here we will explore its history and architecture while wandering the winding old streets and stately squares.

We will also travel beyond Prague, taking in Konopiste Castle, the chateau of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and Kutna Hora, home of the weird, intriguing ‘Bone Church.’  On another day, we journey to the moving Terezin concentration camp.Prague spires

The military history enthusiast will not feel neglected. Our itinerary will include the Czech Army and Air Force museums, and the Tank Museum, with its superb collection of
vehicles. Touring sites from the May 1945 Battle of Prague (the very last battle of WW2 in Europe) we will meet its strange cast of combatant characters. The Czechoslovak agents who killed SS-Gen. Heydrich made their last stand at Church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, and we shall pay our respects there. Certainly not least, we travel to lovely Moravia to tour the largely unspoiled 1805 battlefield of Austerlitz, one of the most important battles in European history and the scene of Napoleon’s masterpiece victory. Our Prague & Czech Republic tour will cover several layers of history and culture, in gorgeous urban and rural landscapes.
