World War I

World War I Tours

The First World War 100 Years Ago

In honor of the centennial of World War One, we will be offering a special tour in 2017, at the height of the commemorations.

This tour will be offered in late April 2017.

While still in the planning stages, we expect to have specific information out by the end of 2015. If such a tour interests you, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will place you on our updates list.

For now, preliminary information to whet your appetite: below are some of the sites that we are considering in our itinerary.

  • One million casualties made the Battle of the Somme one of the bloodiest in human history. After raging for over four months, the frontline had moved only a few miles; the value of the immense sacrifices made there are still debated a hundred years on. Today, the sprawling battlefields on the verdant uplands of Picardy are dotted with scores of monuments, memorials, and cemeteries.

These are just some of the incredible sites we are looking at including in our 2017 tour itinerary.

As with all of our European tours, the package will include quality lodging (with breakfasts), deluxe motor coach transportation, ‘welcome’ and ‘farewell’ dinners, admission to all scheduled museums and attractions, detailed study guide, and an active itinerary of daily guided tours.

Again, we invite you to contact us if a First World War centennial tour is of interest and we will keep you up to date as our planning progresses.
