On September 11, 1777, George Washington’s Continental Army confidently awaited a frontal attack by the British along the banks of picturesque Brandywine Creek. Unfortunately for the Americans, Sir William Howe had other plans. What followed was the largest single-day battle of the Revolution, described by one participant as “the most terrible fire ever heard in America.” Come explore this complex and hard-fought battle in a beautiful corner of Pennsylvania.
Our tour is approximately 4 hours and encompasses the sprawling battlefield, much of which is today in private hands. Brandywine is an on-request private tour for individuals and small and large groups. Please contact us for scheduling and prices.
